WE ARE LOOKING FOR A
BUSINESS CENTER ADMINISTRATOR!

The Harvest Productions Business Center Administrator is an entry level task and customer service oriented position, working at the Kansas City Convention Center’s Business Center office. The BCA reports directly to the Operations Manager, but will also assist Convention Center staff, Harvest Sales, Production Managers and Harvest employees as needed. BCA tasks include shipping and receiving; Business Center Merchandising: selling, maintaining, and ordering sales stock; making over the counter sales; overseeing Business Center office equipment and operation; assisting Operations and Sales with meetings, calendaring, billing, and tracking; working with Production team with the P.O. process and processing requests in a timely manner.

Job Tasks

  • Run the Business Center at the Kansas City Convention Center including interacting with customers and the general public, in addition to our internal and external clients.

  • Shipping and Receiving

  • Receive and process incoming shipments daily from UPS and FedEx and track in an excel inventory sheet.

  • Maintain accurate shipping records and create daily/weekly shipping reports.

  • Order and stock shipping supplies as needed.

  • Assist Operations and Sales

  • Send Daily email to team regarding duties for the day and what needs to be done.

  • Prep monthly and yearly calendar for weekly event meetings.

  • Help track Bartle billing in Flex.

  • Order and stock merchandise.

  • Interior upkeep including weekly sweeping, emptying trash, other cleaning as needed.

  • Other sales and operations functions as needed.

Expectations

  • Careful attention to detail.

  • Business Casual Dress Code.

  • Serve as a Brand Ambassador of the Harvest and the Kansas City Convention Center Brand.

  • Able to take initiative without direction and able to pick up and drop assigned tasks due to higher priority interruptions, ability to stay calm and collect in stressful situations.

  • Able and willing to function on tasks as part of a team or individual including attending and engaging in weekly team and city meetings.

  • Takes ownership of Business Center cleanliness and takes immediate action.

  • Takes interest in equipment and learns how to test and operate each piece.

  • Lift 50lbs to 75lbs.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills, word, excel, outlook, shipping software, gear software.

  • Customer Service experience.

  • Audio visual and live event experience/ industry knowledge is a bonus.

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $20.68 - $23.03 per hour

SUMMER OUTDOOR THEATRE INTERNSHIPS

SPEND THE SUMMER UNDER THE STARS
AT THEATRE IN THE PARK

Come be a part of the Tech Crew at Theatre in the Park - one of the country's largest outdoor Community Theatres, located in Johnson County, Kansas - 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City! 9 weeks of hang, focus, tech/dress, and performances. The season runs from mid May-August.

 

5 shows at Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park: Freaky Friday,  Meet Me in Saint Louis, 13, White Christmas, and Footloose!

 

This summer take advantage of a unique opportunity in the growing field of Theater Arts with a paid internship. No experience necessary - if you have the passion for theater tech and like working in a creative and challenging work environment, we want to meet you! 

Interns will get hands on experience with industry top sound systems, and lighting rigs. No experience is necessary. If you have the passion for theater tech and like working in a creative, challenging and a rotating work environment, we want to meet you!

Internship Positions are as Follows:

1 Master Electrician, $4600 Stipend

Work hand in hand with the Lighting Designer and supervising the season lighting Interns/Electricians and projects associated with the electrical department for the season.  The ME is responsible for executing the prep-work for the season hang of the lighting plot as designed by the lighting designer to include regular equipment prep, auxiliary prep:  assembling cabling runs, assembling needed data cables, general lighting accessories such as gobos, gel, etc.


During the season, the ME is responsible for scheduling the lighting team and assigning tasks for maintenance and upkeep of the equipment and plot for the shows.  The ME oversees schedules, call times and delineation of duties based on the needs of the show.  The ME also plots and preps any changes needed for show changeover work from the closing show to the next show and beginning tech week.  
 

The ME also maintains the lighting paperwork throughout the entire season to document the process and advises the Season Lighting Designer of potential problems while working to troubleshoot and resolve issues as needed. 


The ME will also work with the Season Lighting Designer in prep of specialty show-specific lighting needs and requirements to include practical lighting, wireless DMX lighted props &/or battery operated scenic units with installed lighting needs.  


General experience with ETC IonXE Control Console, Automated lighting fixtures, LED Fixtures, SOCA Multi-Cable power distribution, basic electrical knowledge (110v & 208v Electrical Distribution) and conventional theatrical fixtures required.  Additional experience with Follow-Me Spotting Program, VectorWorks, Lightwright Lighting Paperwork, General Lighting Network & sACN protocol, LED Pixels and wireless DMX preferred.

3 Lighting Technicians, $4100 Stipend

Work with lighting gear from Ayrton, ETC, and Chauvet. Gain experience hanging and focusing plots with over 200 lights including IP65 rated moving lights and leds, work through daily focus notes, innovative Follow-Me automated remote controlled followspot system, and learn to program the light board. 

2 Audio Technicians, $4,100 Stipend - ALL POSITIONS ARE FILLED

Work with d&b audiotechnik, Yamaha and Shure, daily wireless coordination, cast member and band micing, fix audio problems and console operation as needed.

Must be 18 years old to apply.
