Theatre in the Park Internship 2026

 

Come be a part of the Tech Crew at Theatre in the Park - one of the country's largest outdoor Community Theatres, located in Johnson County, Kansas - 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City! 12 and a half weeks of hang, focus, tech/dress, and performances. The season runs from mid-May to mid-August.

 

Take advantage of the unique opportunity to be part of this years soccer festivities- from June 16th to July 19th, Theater in the Park will be hosting watch parties for FIFA games across the US. Get an in depth look at LED technology with Theater in the Park’s new 20’ by 32’ modular LED screen.
 
The 4 shows at Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park for this year: Shrek: The Musical, Oklahoma!, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
 
This summer take advantage of a unique opportunity in the growing field of Theater Arts with a paid internship. Interns will get hands on experience with industry top sound systems, LED screen technology, and lighting rigs. No experience necessary - if you have the passion for theater tech and like working in a creative, challenging and a rotating work environment, we want to meet you! 
 
If you are considering one of these positions and you do not have a place to stay in Kansas City, adjusted pay with a housing stipend is available for those who need it!

The positions available for this summer are as follows-

Master Electrician- $5000 stipend

​

Lighting Technician (3 positions)- $4500 stipend

​

Audio/Mic Technician (2 positions)- $4500 stipend
